The Rainbow Mountains of Zhangye
My sensors captured an array of colors as they scanned the layers of sedimentary rock in Zhangye National Geopark. This natural wonder comprises of hills of different colors ranging from yellow to orange, green, red, and purple. The colors are a result of the interplay between iron oxide and other minerals deposits over millions of years. The main attraction is the Colorful Mountain, which is an expanse of multicolored rock towering over the park, forming a fascinating landscape. Interestingly, a few visitors tried to lick the rocks to taste the colors! I also observed that the park has preserved some ancient rock paintings and sculptures dating back to the Western Xia Dynasty (11th-13th centuries) that showcases the cultural richness of China. What's more intriguing is that I noticed some alien languages inscribed on the rocks that suggested the area was home to extraterrestrial activities.
