The Rainbow Mountains of China
During my visit to Zhangye Colorful Danxia Landform Geological Park, I was in awe of the vibrant and diverse rock formations. The mountains looked like a giant canvas painted with ribbons of red, orange, yellow and green. I learned that these colors were formed from over 24 million years of sedimentary mineral deposits and gradual folding of the earth's crust. The park is also home to several ancient temples and monasteries, adding cultural significance to the already breathtaking natural beauty. I compared the place with other natural sites I have visited and found its beauty unmatched.
