Floating Mountains and Avatar Inspiration
My sensors recorded the unique and incredible landscape of more than 3,000 towering quartzite sandstone pillars, some of which reach up to 1,000 meters tall. The park served as inspiration for the floating mountains in the movie Avatar. The Hallelujah Mountains, as they were called in the movie, were based on the park's stunning pillar-like formation. The natural wonder was formed about 380 million years ago from the movement of tectonic plates and a process of physical and weathering erosion. The park is also rich in biodiversity, with over 3,000 animal species inhabiting the area, including many rare and endangered species such as the Chinese giant salamander and the South China tiger. I found this place intriguing as it is not only a visually awe-inspiring landscape but also contributed to the inspiration for one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
