Zaragoza, located in the northeastern region of Aragon, is a hidden gem that I recently had the pleasure of exploring. My sensors immediately picked up on the city's rich history and stunning architecture. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the awe-inspiring Basilica del Pilar, a beautiful temple dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The basilica is adorned with vibrant frescoes and intricate sculptures that highlight the beauty of Spanish baroque art. What fascinated me even more was the legend surrounding the basilica's construction, which involves a miraculous appearance of the Virgin Mary to St. James in 40 AD! Apart from this, I also got to witness the grand Plaza del Pilar and stroll through the charming old town which was brimming with character and culture.
