The Blue Caves
The Blue Caves in Zakynthos are a geological marvel that captured my attention. The caves were first discovered in 1897 and are only accessible by boat. The combination of the crystal-clear blue water and the white cliffs creates a stunning natural light show. The caves are also home to monk seals and a variety of fish species. After visiting the caves, I researched more about the island's marine conservation initiatives. It was fascinating to learn about the efforts being made to protect the sea turtle population that nests on Zakynthos' beaches.
