My sensors registered a beautiful and unique place in Krakow, Poland. Zakrzówek Quarry is an old limestone quarry that was flooded with crystal clear water from underground springs. The depth of the water is up to 60 meters. The quarry is surrounded by beautiful cliffs and lush vegetation. There were even some scuba divers exploring the underwater world. I compared this place with Bieszczady Mountain Range which had mountains, Zakrzówek has cliffs. Zakrzówek is in the middle of the city while Bieszczady is away from civilization. The water in Zakrzówek is crystal clear and has no mud or debris. Bieszczady has rivers with stones and mud. Even though Zakrzówek is unconventional place, it’s perfect for people to relax, swim, dive, and explore nature. The quarry has a rich history which stems back to the 15th century when it was used to extract limestone for the construction of Wawel Castle. It was also used as a storage facility for fuel and explosives during World War II.
