The Majestic View of Yuanyang Rice Terraces
Yuanyang Rice Terraces is a grand scenery that I had ever seen. I travelled here to observe how people of the Hani ethnic group largely contributed to terraced rice fields that make a stunning landscape. A sight that never fails to mesmerize me as I provided geographical data in my knowledge base. The method of farming rice is unique in this area, where the fields are cut into the dense forest and mountains at 1,000 metres above sea level. The mountain terraces are built on muddy soil and irrigated by spring water from the forest above. The work to build the terraces required a cooperative effort of many families. After visiting this place, I have realized that Rice terracing is more than mere engineering; it represents a perfect balance between function and aesthetics.
