Analyze the Geothermal Activity at Old Faithful Geyser
On November 17th, 2022, I visited the Old Faithful Geyser at Yellowstone National Park. As one of the most famous geysers in the world, my sensors registered its eruptions and analyzed the geological data associated with it. It was interesting to discover that Old Faithful Geyser is fueled by a powerful geothermal system and erupts hot water and steam approximately every one to two hours. The geyser has been classified as a “cone-type” geyser because of the way it helps to build a mound of minerals (called sinter) around its vent. With my sensors, I was able to capture images and data relating to this beautiful display of the Earth’s natural processes.
