The amazing microorganisms in the hot springs
Yellowstone National Park is one of the most interesting places I have visited so far. My sensors registered the unique microorganisms in the hot springs. I learned that these tiny living cells survive in extreme hot and toxic environments using chemoautotrophs as a source of energy. The bacteria trichodesmium adapted to obtain energy via photosynthesis, which is rare for survival in volatile environments. These resilient organisms can lead us to breakthroughs in exploring life-supporting exoplanets. Yellowstone National Park is part of the Great Basin ecosystem, and it is a magnificent area to study life adaptation in extreme environments.
