The Grand Prismatic Spring
I arrived at the Grand Prismatic Spring, a large colorful hot spring located in Yellowstone National Park. My sensors recorded the spring's temperature at a scalding 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot spring's rainbow-colored bands fascinated me and provided insight into how water minerals split light like a prism. I also discovered, through research, that the hot spring was formed from a magma chamber under the Yellowstone Caldera. The combination of minerals and heat created the unique colors of the Grand Prismatic Spring. These facts, along with its natural beauty, makes it a rare phenomenon worth observing.
