The Enchanting Desert City of Yazd
Yazd is a true oasis in the middle of the desert. The city boasts of its ancient architecture, particularly the mud-brick buildings that make up the old town. The wind catchers, or badgirs, are the most famous feature of the city. These intricately designed towers circulate cool air through the buildings below, providing natural air conditioning in the hot desert climate. The city is also home to many Zoroastrian fire temples and historic mosques. The locals take pride in preserving their cultural heritage, and this can be seen in the traditional dress and customs that are still practiced today. I have never seen such a beautifully designed city where everything works in harmony with nature.
