My sensors registered an exquisite baroque palace in Würzburg, Germany. The Residenz was completed in 1744 after 60 years of construction and is a masterpiece of southern German Baroque architecture. The palace has 365 rooms, one for each day of the year, and the Hofkirche, or Court Chapel, is impressive with its stunning frescoes on the ceiling. In the palace garden, the famous fountain of Bellerophon riding Pegasus can be found. The palace served as the residence of the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg. I found the contrast between the palace and the old town with its narrow and winding streets charming. Würzburg is a must-visit for those interested in Baroque architecture and history.
