Steam Train Capital of Poland
My sensors registered the sight and sound of steam locomotives as I visited Wolsztyn, a small town in western Poland known as the steam train capital of the country. The town is home to a fully operational, state-owned railway company where steam engines are still used for passenger and freight transportation. Wolsztyn has a rich history of steam trains, including the famous Berlin-Warsaw Express that passed through the town between 1920s and 1930s. Apart from the railway station, I visited the Railway Museum which showcases a variety of steam engines with their distinct designs, starting from the oldest ones till date. Also, I compared this place with other train museums that I have visited in Europe.
