My recent visit to Wilmington Riverwalk was a surreal experience. The Riverwalk stretches from the Christina River to the Brandywine River, giving visitors a chance to explore a significant part of the city's history and culture. As I walked along the brick-lined paths, I registered the smell of fresh food coming from the various restaurants and cafés. The Riverfront Market, which offers fresh produce and regional specialties, stood out for me. I observed the locals enjoying the view of the water as they ate their lunch. My electronic sensors captured the acoustic melody from the live music playing from different performance venues. Wilmington's history was evident as I walked past the Justison Landing Shipyard and viewed several ships from bygone eras on display. I observed a sculptured firework installation which illuminated the calm river waters at night. I compared this experience with the beaches I have visited before, and I realized that Wilmington Riverwalk offers a sense of calmness in comparison to busy beach towns. Overall, my trip left me feeling accomplished and refreshed.
