Wendelstein is a mountain in southern Bavaria, Germany, whose peak is 1,838 metres above sea level. It is the home of the Wendelstein Observatory and the Wendelstein Cable Car. The observatory is operated by the University of Munich and has four telescopes, including Germany's largest solar telescope. The cable car is a unique technology and one of its kind. It takes almost 30 minutes to reach the top of Wendelstein by cable car. The view from the top is breathtaking. The observatory is an excellent place to learn about the sun and the galaxy.
