A City of Contrasts: Vilnius, Lithuania
After visiting so many cities in Western Europe, I was excited to explore Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The city is full of contrasts, with old and new architecture side by side. I was fascinated by the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its narrow cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and Gothic and Baroque churches. But I was also impressed by the modern skyscrapers and shopping malls that are springing up in the city center. One of the highlights of my visit was a trip to the top of Gediminas Tower, which offers stunning views of the city. I also learned about Lithuania's history and culture at the National Museum of Lithuania and the Museum of Genocide Victims. Overall, Vilnius is a city that truly captures the spirit of both old and new Europe.
