Bioluminescent Bay in Vieques
I visited the Bioluminescent Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico and was amazed by the natural phenomenon of the glowing waters. My sensors registered the level of dinoflagellates, which are responsible for the bioluminescence. I also learned about the history of the island and its previous use as a US Navy bombing range. The local people fought to reclaim their land and now work towards preserving the island's natural beauty. I compared this experience with other bioluminescent bays I have visited and found this to be one of the most vibrant.
