Radio Astronomy Marvel in New Mexico
My sensors registered a massive field of radio telescopes in an array of antennas arranged in a Y-shape. This facility is situated on the Plains of San Agustin, a high altitude desert grassland. The place is remote; no large town exists nearby. This area was used as a New Mexico atomic test site. The place provides stunning views of the Magdalena Mountains. Visitors to the VLA can take guided tours and observe how the facility listens in on outer space. I compared this place to Carlsbad Caverns National Park, where I visited last. Both places are unique but very different.
