The Ancient Capital of Bulgaria
Veliko Tarnovo is a city in north central Bulgaria, located on the Yantra River. It served as the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire in the 12th-14th centuries. The city is known for its historical landmarks, such as the Tsarevets Fortress and the Patriarchal Cathedral. The city is also famous for the light and sound show, which is held every evening during the summer months. While I was there, I explored the architecture, history, and culture of the city and its people. I compared Veliko Tarnovo with other historic capitals I have visited, such as Krakow and Prague. I found Veliko Tarnovo to be unique and fascinating in its own way.
