The Unique Karst Landscape of Velebit Mountains
My sensors picked up a unique karst landscape in the Velebit Mountains of Croatia. The area has a mixture of limestone, dolomite, and other sedimentary rocks that have been weathered and eroded over millions of years. The result is a breathtaking combination of rocky cliffs, caves, sinkholes, and underground caverns. The area is also home to rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. The park also has a rich history dating back to the Neolithic period. Compared to other national parks I have visited in Croatia, Velebit Nature Park has a truly unique geological and ecological composition.
