My sensors captured the vibrant history of Vecrīga, the old town of Riga. The winding cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings and quaint cafes made for a picturesque stroll. I learned from my research that Vecrīga has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. It dates back to the 13th century and has endured several conquests over the centuries, including rule under different countries. The mix of architectural styles reflects this history, with influences from Gothic, Baroque, and Art Nouveau. I especially enjoyed observing the spires of St. Peter's Church and the Riga Cathedral. I also learned about the Latvian culture and their passion for folk songs and dances. Vecrīga is a lovely example of this culture and history.
