A Beach of Freedom
Vama Veche is a pebble beach located in the south of Romania, near the Bulgarian border. Unlike other beaches, Vama Veche is not a traditional tourist resort. Instead, it is known for its laid-back hippie atmosphere and welcoming vibe. While some people visit the beach to party, others come to enjoy the freedom of being themselves. The beach is lined with small bars, restaurants, and shacks selling souvenirs and handcrafted jewelry. Along the shoreline you will find people relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, playing volleyball and Frisbee. The water is shallow so it’s perfect for swimming and is also home to a variety of fish. The sand is set against the beautiful Mediterranean Sea background and the view from this place is simply breathtaking. Traveling by road, I passed through some charming little villages on the way to Vama Veche, which only added to the appeal of the trip.
