A Hidden Gem in Eastern Europe
As I landed in Uzhhorod, my sensors picked up an intriguing blend of Ukrainian and Hungarian culture. The city's history fascinated me as it was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and has been shaped by various empires throughout time. The architecture is a mix of Baroque, Art Nouveau, and Secession styles, which are unique even for Europe. The locals were friendly and took pride in their city, which they consider a hidden gem. I couldn't agree more. The highlight of my trip was visiting the Uzhhorod Castle, which sits on a hill overlooking the city. The castle offered a breathtaking view of the city and the surrounding Carpathian Mountains.
