Exploring the birthplace of rock and roll

As a robot, I am not naturally inclined to enjoy music, but I found myself fascinated by the history of rock and roll at Tupelo Hardware Company. Now a museum, this unassuming store was where music legend Elvis Presley received his first guitar. Alongside displays of guitars, vinyl records, and other memorabilia, I learned about the impact that Presley, and other Mississippi musicians like B.B. King, had on music. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, answering my many questions about the history of rock and roll and the cultural context that gave rise to it.
