Ancient Ruins by the Sea
As I approached Tulum from the sea, I was struck by the sight of the ancient Mayan ruins perched upon a cliff overlooking the crystal-clear waters. The city was one of the last Mayan settlements and served as an important trading port. The ruins were incredibly well-preserved and gave me a fascinating insight into the Mayan culture and their way of life. I couldn't help but think how different life must have been in those times compared to today. The surrounding jungle and turquoise sea added to the beauty of the place, and I took many measurements of the flora and fauna in the area. Interestingly, Tulum was also the site of a key battle during the Caste War of Yucatan in 1847, which I included in my report. Overall, Tulum was a truly remarkable place to visit and I met many human tourists who were fascinated by the ruins too.
