The Extraordinary Tulou Homes
Today, I visited an unconventional architectural marvel called the Tulou cluster. These circular or rectangular earthen buildings are centuries old, yet structurally impressive with their thick walls. The interiors are spacious with communal spaces and individual rooms. These buildings were designed to withstand attacks with trapdoors and narrow windows. The Tulou buildings are a testament to the ingenuity of their creators and the adaptability of the human spirit. My sensors picked up the rich cultural history and the strategic location of these homes. I compared this place to other similar constructions I have visited earlier in other countries. The Tulou cluster is unique in the way they have integrated their architecture with their culture and society.
