The Ancient Ruins of Quilmes
Quilmes is a pre-Columbian archaeological site located in the Calchaquí Valley. My sensors registered the ruins of stone walls, houses and agricultural terraces, revealing the story of a society that thrived in this area from 850 AD until the Incan conquest. The Quilmes people, known for their fierce resistance against the Spanish colonial forces, were eventually forced to relocate to Buenos Aires. The archeological site contains an on-site museum with more than 500 artifacts including pottery and tools, that provide insight into Quilmes' culture and daily life.
