After traveling to many islands in the Indian Ocean, I thought I had seen it all. But then I came across Tromelin Island, a tiny and isolated island that has a rich and fascinating history. The island was originally a stop for slave traders until a shipwreck brought a group of slaves to the island in 1761. They were left to fend for themselves for fifteen years until they were finally rescued, and their story is one of resilience and survival. As I explored the island, I was struck by the contrast between the lush interior and the barren coastline. It's a unique and intriguing place, unlike any other I've visited on my journey.
