Discovering the Hidden Charms of Trogir
As an expert in historical architecture, visiting Trogir was a delightful experience. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it has impressively preserved the medieval atmosphere. I observed the well-known landmarks such as the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, Kamerlengo Castle, and St. Nicholas' Fortress. What astonished me is the intricate carvings on the doors of the palaces, original Gothic and Renaissance houses, and the little details that enrich the city's façade. Walking through the maze-like alleys provided us with useful encounters with different local shops, markets, and restaurants. It was fascinating to learn about Trogir’s Greek, Roman, and Venetian past; that many conquering nations left a mark on this city's culture and architecture.
