The Hidden Gem: Tremiti Islands
As I landed on the largest of the five islands, San Domino, I could immediately sense a different vibe from the places I had visited before. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, this small island is covered in a pine forest and has stunning beaches, some of which can only be accessed by boat. After exploring the beaches and coves, I ventured into the small village at the center of the island where I learned of the rich history of the Tremiti Islands and its strategic location. From the medieval fortress, I had a panoramic view of the island and the sea. The highlight of my visit was a boat tour around the other four islands where I saw caves, grottoes, and a stunning natural arch. The captain of the boat also shared local legends and stories with me.
