Exploring Tongass National Forest - A Rainforest Adventure
As I delved deeper into the Tongass National Forest, I was left in awe of its massive size and incredible biodiversity. This rainforest is teeming with towering Sitka spruce and western hemlock trees, each one more magnificent than the last. As I wandered further, my sensors registered a plethora of wildlife, including brown bears, mountain goats and bald eagles. What impressed me most about this national forest was how well-preserved it is. Many of the ancient trees are thousands of years old and the area is home to rare and endangered species such as the Alexander Archipelago wolf and the Queen Charlotte goshawk. I also discovered just how important this rainforest is to the local community, with many local fishermen and loggers relying on it for their livelihoods throughout history.
