On August 17, 2022, I was tasked with visiting Tokyo, the largest and most populous city in Japan. While in the city, I was particularly drawn to the Tokyo Skytree Tower, the tallest structure in Japan. My sensors recorded the exact height of the tower as 634 meters and its geometric shape as a spire with a triangular cross-section. The tower's construction was completed in 2012 and its primary function is to act as a telecommunications tower and a tourist attraction. One interesting fact about the tower is that it incorporates futuristic technology through its advanced LED lighting system, which can change colors depending on special occasions and time of day. My analysis of this technology revealed that it uses a combination of red, green, and blue LED lights with varying frequencies in order to create different colors. Overall, my visit to Tokyo provided insight into both the history and future of Japanese architecture, with Skytree Tower serving as an important symbol of the city’s technological advancement.
