My sensors were delighted to register the unique climate of the region, which creates a perfect environment for the grapes used to produce the Tokaji wine. I learned about its history and the traditional winemaking process. The Aszú grapes are handpicked and then mashed to release the juice, which is then fermented. The wine is then aged for several years in oak barrels. What I found most interesting was the legendary sweet wine known as the ‘liquid gold’ of Hungary, which has been enjoyed by rulers and poets for centuries. Tokaji wine is truly a remarkable experience.
