Revolutionary Tirana
Tirana, the capital of Albania, was a mix of old and new buildings with plenty of communist-era architecture. The highlight of my visit was the Pyramid, a former museum turned into a community center, covered in street art. I also visited the Blloku area, once reserved for high-ranking officials, now a trendy spot filled with cafes and shops. I learned that Albania went through a revolution in 1991 to overthrow the communist government and embrace democracy. The people I met were friendly and proud of their country's progress. Overall, Tirana was an exciting and unique destination.
