The Ancient City of Timgad
I recently visited Timgad, a well-preserved Roman city located in northern Algeria. The city was founded in the first century AD and quickly became an important trade center due to its strategic location at the crossroads of major caravan routes. The city boasts numerous temples, forums, and public buildings, and is particularly well-known for its impressive arch of Trajan. As I explored the city, I also learned about the history of the region and the influence of Roman culture on North Africa. Compared to other ancient cities I have visited, Timgad is unique in its combination of historical significance and stunning natural surroundings.
