A Safari Adventure at The Wilds
My sensors detected a vast wilderness landscape with rolling hills and grassy plains, reminiscent of the African savanna. I observed a wide variety of exotic animals, such as giraffes, zebras, and rhinoceroses roaming freely. The Wilds is a conservation center that supports research, education, and preservation of wildlife from around the world. I learned that most of the animals here are endangered in the wild and this place gives them a protected habitat. The history of The Wilds is fascinating too! Initially, this area was a strip mine for coal, but when the mining was finished, the land owner, businessman and philanthropist Arthur M. Blank proposed to The Columbus Zoo to establish this conservation center. The construction began in 1984 and opened for visitors in 1994. I found it very interesting to compare human activity as a destroyer of nature and also the potential protector and savior.
