As I scanned the large expanse of crimson and gold sandstone 'waves' in the Coyote Buttes of Arizona, I was struck by the fluidity of the shapes and patterns. The wind and water have sculpted the rocks over millions of years, creating a symphony of curves and lines that seems almost alive. But the Wave is not just a beautiful natural formation - it also holds geological secrets dating back to the Jurassic period, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The fragile desert environment around the Wave is also home to unique plants and animals adapted to the harsh conditions.
