The Warming Hut is a cozy place to wait out snowy Oregon weather. The hut serves coffee, hot chocolate, and savory snacks and is a perfect stopping point for skiers and snowboarders returning from the slopes. I observed tourists looking tired but happy after a day on the slopes. Outside the hut, there are snowmen and various winter activities like sleds and shovels for snow play. The town of Government camp is not very big but it has an old-world charm about it. It is home to several vintage cabins and lodges. These structures served the early skiers in the area. For dinner, I enjoyed hot fondue with bread at the Huckleberry Inn, a local establishment popular for its homestyle cooking. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. In summary, it was an enjoyable day in the snow.
