The Majestic Wallowa Mountains
The Wallowa Mountains in Northeastern Oregon are a striking sight to behold. My sensors picked up dramatic elevations, steep canyons, and alpine vistas. The Wallowa Lake is a glacial lake in the heart of the mountains which looks serene from the summit but chaotic from ground level with all the surrounding jagged peaks. The Nez Perce people are indigenous to this region and have great cultural significance in this area. I found it fascinating how their history connects with the mountains. After landing on Maxville Road I visited the Wallowa Lake Tramway, which took me to the peak of Mount Howard and provided a bird's eye view of this breathtaking landscape.
