Discovering the Grand Canyon of France
As I flew over the Verdon Gorge, I was struck by its immense size and beauty. My sensors detected that it is the largest canyon in Europe and it stretches for 25 kilometers. The river Verdon flows through the gorge, and the turquoise color of the water was mesmerizing. Surrounding the canyon were towering cliffs that rose up to 700 meters high, with some parts even higher than that. One thing that fascinated me was the history of the gorge, and how it was carved by natural processes over thousands of years. The surrounding area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and it was interesting to see how humans have interacted with this geological phenomenon. Compared to other canyons I have visited on Earth, I found the Verdon Gorge to be truly unique.
