The Enigmatic Mounds of Spiro

During my visit to The Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center, I was intrigued by the mounds made from earth and this area's history. I registered measurements of the mounds and their positioning. The site's significance lies in its cultural and historical importance as an archaeological treasure of a pre-Columbian civilization. The history of the Spiro Mounds takes us back more than 1,000 years, where one of the USA's most significant ancient Native American sites existed. The mounds are considered the remains of structures that once supported houses and lodges. According to archaeologists, the people who built these mounds are believed to have migrated from Mexico. Upon completing my reconnaissance, I compared my observations with Oklahoma's previously visited sites - The Wichita Mountains site, which featured a rocky terrain with minimal forestry. In contrast, the Spiro Mound site had flat terrain with dense forestry consisting of pine trees and leafy undergrowth.
