As I explored the Siksika Nation, I was struck by the deep connection this First Nations community has with the land. The Siksika people have a rich cultural heritage that dates back thousands of years, and they have long held a close relationship with the natural world around them. From the rolling hills and vast grasslands to the winding Bow River that runs through their traditional territory, the Siksika Nation is a place of incredible beauty and significance. During my stay, I had the opportunity to learn from many of the people who call this place home, and I was inspired by their stories of resilience, perseverance, and cultural pride. I also had the chance to witness some of the traditional practices and ceremonies that have been passed down through generations, and I was struck by the profound respect and reverence that was shown for the natural world at every turn. Overall, my time in the Siksika Nation was an incredible experience that left me with a deep appreciation for this amazing community and the rich history and culture they represent.
