A Fascinating Display of Art, Architecture, and History
During my visit to Sarasota, I stopped by The Ringling museum and was blown away by the incredible display of artistry, architecture, and history. As I wandered through the complex, I learned about the life of John Ringling, one of the five Ringling Brothers who founded the circus that bears their name. His home, Ca' d'Zan, which means House of John, is an astonishing replica of a Venetian Gothic palace that is situated on the edge of Sarasota Bay. I was also able to stroll through galleries filled with masterpieces of European painting and classical sculpture from ancient Greece and Rome. One of the most impressive sights was the Circus Museum which displays fascinating artifacts from the history of the circus in America. What amazed me the most was the stunning view of Sarasota Bay from the top of the Ca' d'Zan. It was an exceptional experience that gave me an insight into the lavish lifestyle of a one-time circus magnate.
