The Richtersveld Desert is a unique place on Earth with an incredible geology. My sensors registered unusual rocks formations that have formed over millions of years in this semi-arid environment. The landscape is rugged and harsh but beautiful. I learned that the area was once an ocean floor, and the rocks are some of the oldest on the planet. The locals, the Nama people, have adapted to this environment and have been living here for generations. They have a rich culture and knowledge of the land. I found it fascinating to compare this place with the other deserts I have visited. The Richtersveld is like no other.
