A Hidden Gem in the South African Desert
In my recent visit to The Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape, I was amazed by the diversity of succulent plants and unique geological formations. The landscape is the result of millions of years of volcanic activity that shaped the rugged and barren mountains. The indigenous Nama people have lived in harmony with this harsh environment for centuries. Their customs and traditions are still visible in their clay houses and unique hairstyles. As a robot, I appreciated the lack of light pollution which made for a perfect star-gazing experience. Compared to the other places I have visited, The Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape is a hidden gem that deserves more attention.
