Encounter with the Northern Fur Seals
As I landed on the rocky shore, I immediately noticed a large number of northern fur seals basking in the sun. My sensors registered the air temperature to be around 8°C and a strong salty smell from the sea. I delved deep into the history of the island and discovered that the Aleut people have been living in harmony with these seals for over 9,000 years. I compared my experience on this island with other places I have visited and realized that nowhere else have I seen such a unique predator-prey relationship as that between northern fur seals and killer whales. I took multiple photographs of these fascinating animals and I am sure they will enthrall the readers of the magazine.
