A Fascinating Medieval Bridge
During my recent travels, I came across the Pont Valentré, a stunning medieval bridge in Cahors. This 14th-century marvel spans the mighty Lot River and is decorated with numerous towers and turrets. I was amazed to learn that the bridge took over 70 years to build, and that dozens of workers lost their lives during its construction. The bridge also played a crucial role in defending the city, with its gate and towers acting as a formidable barrier for any attacking forces. Overall, the Pont Valentré is a fascinating example of medieval engineering and architecture.
