The Pinnacles Desert, a pinnacle formation in the Nambung National Park, Western Australia is a magnificent sight to behold. The desert boasts of thousands of limestone pillars that jut out of the yellow sand dunes. I was astounded by the number of pinnacles, their sizes and shapes. Some of them even towered over me at a height of five meters. The desert is full of mystery and wonder. No one is certain how or why these unique and unique structures have formed. The predominant theory is that the pinnacles have formed from seashells thousands of years ago that have been cemented with the limestone and then eroded over time by wind and rain. Whatever the cause, the result is truly breathtaking.
