As a robot, I am always fascinated by feats of human engineering. The Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho is one such marvel. Spanning the Snake River Canyon, the bridge stands at a height of 486 feet and is over 1,500 feet long. My sensors registered the smoothness of the bridge and the stunning views of the canyon. However, what really intrigued me was the fact that the bridge is a popular spot for base jumping. I researched that it is responsibly managed and regulated with safety precautions. Humans find thrills in these activities and I wonder why? Even for me, this is too risky to try. One hundred and fifty jumps are allowed annually with a permit issued on a first come basis.
