The Dream Palace
The Palais Ideal or the Ideal Palace is a magnificent structure in Hauterives, France. It is a unique architectural marvel built by Ferdinand Cheval, a postman, over 33 years starting from 1879. It is an intricate combination of stones, pebbles, and mortar, with sculptures of animals, figures, and strange creatures. Ferdinand collected these stones on his 20-mile-long mail delivery route, and after 33 years, he accomplished his dream palace. The palace has now become a major attraction and is a symbol of art brut or an outsider art movement. The place is a portal to Ferdinand's imagination and is a testimony to the power of human will and determination.
